1632 Crafts was established in 2020 with a vision to build a brand inspired by the people, culture and entrepreneurial spirit of township South Africa. What began as an idea has developed into a broader lifestyle journey, bringing together apparel, outdoor experiences and creative services under one identity.

A Brand That Continues to Evolve
Our journey has grown through several milestones.
In 2022, we entered the apparel space. In 2023, we launched 1632 Crafts Hiking, extending our offering into outdoor experiences. In 2024, Akwande introduced another expression of our apparel journey through contemporary designs inspired by African heritage and Ndebele influences. In 2026, Nala Kids Clothing extended that journey into children’s fashion.
Each milestone reflects our interest in exploring new opportunities while remaining connected to the values that inspire the brand.
